What to expect

It’s not spring water — the tubs run heated water — but soaking outdoors in cypress after a 14-hour flight is a spectacular way to either start or end a trip. The hotel sits in Narita town proper, 8 minutes from the station and a 10-minute stroll from Naritasan Shinshoji, a genuinely great temple complex most tourists skip. Free parking (reserve ahead) if you’re picking up a rental car.

Notes for international travelers

• Airport logistics: ~15 min by train or taxi to NRT terminals. For early flights, this beats waking up in central Tokyo by more than an hour.
• Naritasan temple and its old-town approach street (unagi restaurants!) fill an afternoon nicely.
